Guess you are wondering how I came up with the name “Nonnas Nutty Krafts?” Well that’s a good question and here is how that story goes. As a military wife, I was always trying something new to bring in some sort of income. Being that when I married…37 years ago….we had literally nothing to our names except the luggage we carried in hand. To add to our lack of finances, I became pregnant on our honeymoon with not just with one baby but two. Yup TWINS!  Then 2 years later, I was pregnant again. During those early years, I would try selling or making anything I could. I would sell products door to door on base, host various home shows to sell products or even get free items. As my children grew, I expanded into craft shows. I’d make wood products, sewing items, jewelry, whatever I could make I did. But as the military moved us around, the children grew older and needed me to take them to gymnastic meets, football games,  basketball practices, track meets etc. my love for crafting was put on hold. I then had to take on paying jobs to support the kid’s athletic enthusiasm.

The kids are all grown with children of their own, husband retired now from the military, and I retired from my job. Now it’s time to get back to the one thing I love most….KRAFTING. If anyone knows me, I am a person who likes to have fun doing whatever. Whether from sewing to jumping out of a plane skydiving, that’s me! Now that I am a grandmother, I had to come up with what my grandkids would call me. Since the “other” grandparents where called grandma, Nonna, which means grandmother in Italian (I am Italian) was the perfect fit for me. Now the “nutty” part, well that’s my husband’s idea. Since I love to do wild and crazy things, this was just fitting. The “Kraft” with a “k” was just to make things more fun.
